WHAT
As a Confluence of Hope volunteer, you will serve the rural Nigerian community in Nimo and surrounding villages by providing medical and educational services. This includes but is not limited to sorting / distributing medication, teaching children computer skills, recording patient information, and playing sports with kids.
There will also be volunteer activities [ game night, village exploring, team building, etc. ] when not serving.
WHERE
You would live and serve at the Izuchukwu Center in Egbengwu Nimo, Anambra, Nigeria.
WHEN
arrive: ~ December 26 / depart: ~ January 9
These dates are tentative depending on the available flight times.
HOW
The estimated cost of this two week service trip is 2500 USD.
Confluence of Hope takes care of accommodation, meals, and road transportation within Nigeria.
Here’s the breakdown of costs you’d have as a volunteer:
Roundtrip Flight | $2000
flight to Abuja [ABV] & flight to Anambra
Passport | $145 [ cost of US passport if you don’t already have one ]
Visa or Visa on Arrival | $180 [ for US passport holders, usually cheaper for others ]
Malaria Medication | > $10 [ depends on insurance ]
Miscellaneous | $150 [ clothes, shoes, snacks, luggage, toiletries, souvenirs, etc. ]
